I’m Verena.

I’m an anthropologist and political scientist, web and media designer and artist, who just moved to the countryside to be closer to nature and to renovate an old half-timbered house.

I’ve spent a lot of time abroad and in never-resting Berlin, now it’s time to bring together all of my experiences and integrate.

There are impressions and updates on the blog, I am happy to hear from people who need help with their websites or have requests for design work & I’m also opening a shop.

Verena's Shop

To open a little shop, where people can buy something that brings joy to themselves or those they care about, has always been my dream.

So, I'm starting with this little online shop.

A newsletter to spark creativity and to grow in community.

This is about how you, how we, see the world and want to shape the future.

Finding Freedom - isn't that what we want?
25 people share their ideas of freedom, how to find and maintain it. Would you like to be free?

Articles about interesting encounters, places and fun projects.

Tips & tricks for running and optimizing your website, marketing, work and life.

Born and raised in Hamburg and near the Baltic Sea, I spent the last 20 years in the USA (San Diego), the Ukraine (Transcarpathia), in Göttingen, Leipzig and Berlin. Studies, work, life & growth.

I have been living in the Lower Saxony region since May 2021, I started gardening, and it has become quiet enough to start something new: to be closer to nature, more time for arts and crafts (or is that the same?) And I have developed a course, with which you can learn how to implement your projects in a structured way, including your own website.

Verena’s Design Studio is my business, which I have been running independently and happily for more than 15 years.

Do you need a new website, or do you want to improve your current website? Email me!

I also like to design logos or corporate designs, create layouts for print products or your new business card and coach you individually to further develop your website or to develop a marketing strategy that works and is easy to implement.

I live in Berlin and would love to move to the countryside. I just moved to the countryside! I have two dogs, I like building things, and I also like to get my hands dirty. I hosted a radio show for 17 years. I have an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology, Political Sciences and Russian. I am the founder of Transnational Queer Underground. I like to eat cake, go to the movies, and I don’t read as many books or draw as often as I would like. I am also a web designer and believe that together we can bring about the changes we want.

Why Provinzpalast?

provinzpalast.de was the first domain I registered in 2002, when me and a friend were just starting our radio show balm & amp; creak in Göttingen.

It didn’t make much sense in Berlin, but it does again now, that I’m back in the region

Provinz (provincial) for me means to be with the people and not with the power. And the Palast (palace) is what we create, in material and immaterial ways.

Here Provinzpalast is a place for old and new projects, my own, and those coming into existence in collaboration with others. Hopefully, it will also be a space to meet and get to know each other, work together or simply to have fun together and discover new things! 🙂

Would you be interested in starting a project together?
